Capt. Mark Fann is a Florida native with over 30 years
local knowledge and experience.
Over the years, Mark has been actively involved with various
charity organizations and fishing clinics. He has conducted
seminars for both ladies and children, teaching them the
various fishing techniques.
Florida native who grew up fishing the waters of Ft.
Lauderdale, The Florida Keys, Florida Everglades and
Lake Okeechobee.
Here are some facts about Capt. Mark:
- Started fishing professionally at the age of 18.
- Began fishing out of Bahia Mar in 1981 on the “Happy
Holiday”. In 1983
was mate on the “Salt Shaker”, a 50’
Hatters sportfish that wnet on to win the Bahamas
Billfish Championship Series.
- From 85-87, was chartering
out of Bahia Mar on the “C.O.B.”, a 46’
Bertram and continued to fish the Bahamas Billfish
Series.
- In 1991, began fishing
the pro bass tour series, Bassmaster Trail and FLW
tour. I continued charter sportfishing in between
bass tournaments.
- In 2000, I captained
the “Happy Day Today”, which is based
out of Bahia Mar in Ft. Lauderdale
- From 2001-2002, I captained
the “Dr. Hook”, a 43’ Hatteras that
was also based out of Bahia Mar.
- 2002-2006, I primarily
fished bass tournaments with FLW Outdoors as well
as guiding for bass on Lake Okeechobee and for Peacock
bass and Largemouth bass in the Florida Everglades.
- 2006-2007, with Lake
Okeechobee under low water conditions, I again captained
the “Happy Day Today”.
- 2007 - I became the
captain of our new boat, FANNTASTIC, a 50’ Hatteras
sportfish based out of Bahia Mar.
About The Boat
The FANNTASTIC is fully
air-conditioned and features a large, luxurious salon
with leather couches, flat screen TV's, complete sound
system, dining area, full kitchen, two staterooms and
two spotless restrooms.
She has a spacious bridge with
wrap-around custioned seating and plenty of room for
all to sit up with the captain for a wonderful view
of Ft. Lauderdale.
The FANNTASTIC also features
a drug and alcohol free crew (we believe only the customers
should be enjoying their beer).
Capt. Mark uses both Penn and
Shimmano tackle and all the rods are custom built for
fishing in South Florida.
The FANNTASTIC has twin Detroit
diesels with 650 hp each. The electronics are by Northstar
and Furuno. She has two GPS and fish finders. She is
a USCG documented vessel with all safety equipment.
The FANNTASTIC is by far the
nicest charter boat in South Florida.
