Fly Fishing

Fly Fishing is an ancient method used primarily to catch Trout and Salmon and can be traced back to 2nd century Macedonia. Today, fly fishing is used in many freshwater fishing techniques to catch carp, bass and pike fish to name just a few as well as saltwater fishing for snook, redfish, tarpon and bonefish worldwide.

The method of fly fishing consists of using artificial flies and is cast using fly fishing rods, fly lines coated with plastic which makes it heavy enough to cast the fly to its target.

Fly fishing are categorized as dry fly fishing and wet fly fishing. Dry fly fishing sits on top of the water (simulating an insect that generally lands on the water surface). The wet fly submerges itself in the water.

Fly fishing is available just about anywhere water is around. However, the top fly fishing destinations tend to be the Northern US and Canada including Alaska's Kenai River, the Rocky Mountains, New England, Montana and California. Of course, fly fishing is also available to many southern locations such as Missourri, , Texas and Cancun, Mexico.
