Have you been racking your brain trying to find the perfect fishing charter for your vacation? Here are 4 tips:

  1. Cheaper isn’t always better.

While saving money is always a win, the cheapest fishing charter isn’t always going to be the best option for you. Make sure they are licensed, insured, and bonded. Also, shorter charters = less expensive and longer charters = more money.

  2. What kind of trip are you looking for?

Are you looking to go out into the water on a deep sea or offshore fishing trip? Or are you looking to stay close to land with in inshore trip? Also consider the season and the type of fish you are looking to catch!

  3. Fish online before  you fish in the water!

Charternet is a great resource for finding amazing fishing charters in the area you want to travel to. After you find a few, use sites like Yelp and TripAdvisor to see reviews in real-time!

  4. Interview your Captain.

Asking a few questions before booking your trip will weed out some shady characters. Are you licensed? How many years have you been doing this? Where are we going to go? What is the bite like? Will there be any extra costs (bait, food, etc)?

Have a great trip!
