Sailing in the British Virgin Islands

Sailing in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) is sailing the top sailing destination in the world. We have sailed the BVI many times and would like to share some insights and useful information about chartering a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands. Or if you want to jump right to a list of boats, click here.

There’s plenty to do while chartering a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands. With 4 main islands and many smaller islands you will have much to explore and sample every day of your BVI charter. The sailing is so smooth, it great for family vacations or those that have never chartered or been on a sailboat before.

There are two kinds of sailboat charters available; bareboat sailing charters and crewed sailing charters. Basically, bareboat is for skilled sailors and crewed are for those that can’t sail, or want to learn, or those that enjoy letting someone else sail and take care of the details.

But no matter how you go sailing in the BVI, you will have the best time of your life. We enjoy going year after year. It never gets boring unless we want it too! Hopefully you will find this site of use and recommend it to your friends. Thanks for stopping by.

A lone Saiboat sails on the Sir Frances Drake Channel. That's one of the nice things about the British Virgin Islands, you always sail within the sight of land.
