Sailing in the British Virgin Islands
|
About the sailors and authors
Bob Roth and Patty Daley have been sailing the British Virgin Islands for over a decade, and try to make at least a trip a year to the British Virgins
They love sailing so much that in 1996 they started charternet.com, which has become the largest marine internet directory on the web.
Previously, Bob owned Media III Advertising, Inc. An Orlando, Florida ad agency. The agency handled clients advertising, marketing and public relations efforts. Bob worked in the ad agency business for 23 years. He was also President of the Orlando Advertising Federation (1990/91), a chapter of American Advertising Federation, and was on the board of directors for 5 years.
Bob was also on the board of directors of the Sailfest (formerly the Red Lobster Cup) Regatta for 10 years. He was chairman for the last 2 years of his involvement. The regatta hosted over 750 boats in 46 one design catagories and was the largest one-design inland regatta in the world.
Patty was Vice President for 6 years at Media III Advertising. She oversaw all accounts services for the 3.5 million dollar agency. Patty received her Bachelors degree from Auburn and her Masters from the University of North Carolina. The pair has worked together for over 12 years and are a formidable team.
They love to sail the BVI and have produced this site to interest and inform people about chartering sailboats in the British Virgin Islands. One of the best ways to have a great trip is to take it slow and try not to yell at the crew.
Here is a great source of charterboats and charterboat companies that can provide you with a bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands

One of our favorite stops is the Baths. Huge bolders rest upon each other and you climb up and down, around and through the national park. Super fun and a great lunch stop. There's even a bar/burger place right on the beach. Someone will need to drop everyone off at the beach and then tie up the dinghy at the floating dink mooring and swim in! No dinks allowed on the beach.
