Tortola
This is the main Island and most of you will pick up your boat from this Island. There are many places to anchor around the island. Some of our favorites are:
Frenchmans Cay is known for its bright colored buildings and shopping area. You can get provisions, water and fuel. There is a Pussers there as well. For some local food and fun, we suggest the Jolly Roger on the North side of the anchorage. You will dinghy over, but remember, there is a ferry that runs past, and your dinghy is small and hard to see at night!
You can also go to famed Cane Garden Bay, which features Queito Rymers, which is a great place to party. You can get breakfast at the pink building if you want.
Virgin Gorda
You can get just about anything at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor. Be sure to let the dockmaster know what you are doing before you get into the basin. In season it can get pretty busy and they may want you to take a slip while you wait.
On the North side of Virgin Gorda is the Gorda Sound. There are several places to anchor. One of our favorites is at Saba Rock. They have built a new hotel and restaurant on the island and you can even eat on the dock next to the water. Plus, there is usually good wind coming thru the pass to the North. The Bitter End Yacht Club is just to the East.
Jost Van Dyke
Little Harbor
Sidneys Peace and Love, Harris, and Abes are the local restaurants. If you have dinner at Sidneys, the captain eats for free. Abes has great lobster, Harris the garlic chicken soup. Sidneys has a T-Shirt shop and an honor bar. It is a great place to eat and party!
Great Harbor
Foxys is the hot spot. New Years is the big night of the year. Big concert area out back. Ive seen 300+ boats in (and out) of the harbor. In 2001, we had to anchor outside of the harbor in deep, deep water. Had to sleep with one eye open.
White Bay
The Soggy Dollar Bar, which is part of the Sand Castle hotel, is the place to go and vedge. The bay is our favorite place to hang. Not advised to anchor overnight. But a great day stop for lunch and snorkeling, swimming, hammocking and the ring toss game. I miss it just writing about it!
And here are some others (we are still working on the info!):
Frenchmans Cay
Cooper Island
Marina Cay
Anegada
Norman Island
Peter Island
Salt Island

Getting ready to grab the mooring ball line. On monohull boats, you can usually toss the line over a cleat. With catamarans, create a bridal so the boat points upwind.

Of course, this is what you do most of the time. Sleeping, reading a book, listening to music or just watching the water go by are all great ways to chill out.

On a casual tack just watching the day go by. If you plan to listen to music, be sure to ask about the stereo. You might want to bring your own boom box if the stereo is questionable.
